PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education Coordinator should possess skills to:
Serves as the Student Records Custodian and is responsible for ensuring every student record is in full compliance with local, state, federal, accreditation and Company requirements.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to include clinical, education, residential, medical, parents/guardians, LEAs, referral sources and risk management.
Attend clinical treatment team and unit review meetings as needed. Input UHS Best in Class Monthly Report Card Data in to the webportal including pre and post testing results.
Supervise and direct the administration of SOL and other statewide testing in accordance with testing security and protocols.
At the direction of the Director, assist with completing teacher observations.
Attends scheduled supervision meetings with the Director of Education.
Represents facility as administrative designee when Director of Education appoints.
Works with multidisciplinary team to develop appropriate transition plans to be included on each student’s Individual Service Plan.
Communicate effectively with students, facility personnel, referral sources, and local education agencies.
Maintain assessment materials and communication with local education agencies in regards to standardized testing and assessment towards graduation.
Maintain positive relationships with students and co-workers
Methods for accessing educational records and information for individual students from referral sources and local education agencies.
Special Education policies and procedures.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education or Related Field
Experience: At least three years of experience in an educational setting is preferred.
EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Current valid VA DOE Teaching Certificate, preferably in Special Education. Handle with Care, CPR and First Aid.
