The Position:
A Software Engineer performs software design and development in accordance with organisation standards, participating in and devising solution approaches by analytical thinking.
They work in a team-oriented environment to produce the best result in the given constraints.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Deliver development outcomes in software design and development in accordance with organisation architecture and standards, participating in and devising solution approaches by analytical thinking
- Analyse business requirements from a technical perspective and determine technical solutions
- Fully participate in the software development process and quality assurance activities in order to improve product quality
Daily Responsibilities
- Articulate requirements
- Create and review design specifications and technical solutions for small-medium solutions
- Implement well structured code aligned to product architecture, considering robustness, modularity and testability
- Reviews and provides feedback to assist development standards being kept in line with organisation standards
- Fully participates in and provides feedback on the company’s software development methodology
Qualifications / Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor/Grad Dip. Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering, IT Certification or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven working experience in software development.
- Desired development experience, where relevant: Front-end: 2+ years Javascript, Mobile: Flutter/Android/iOS: 2+ years, Backend: 2+ years of OO language
- Knowledge of software development and quality processes, especially Agile development methodologies.

- Positive work attitude and reliable.
- Clear spoken and written communication, able to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and colleagues.
- Values good quality technical outcomes in line with estimates, meeting product and customer needs.
- Ability to use their initiative, and handle and prioritise multiple requests from different sources and communicate these priorities.
- Be able to work both independently and with a team.
- Keen to learn new subject matter areas.
- A constructively critical thinker.
