About the role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Software Architect to be part of our next-generation utility billing software division. In this role, you will be working across the full software development life cycle. You will be part of Architecture team, working closely with solution architects, business analysts, business stakeholders and other engineers. This is a great opportunity to secure a permanent position working on challenging technical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecting and designing solutions to complex business and technical problems.
• Provide detailed specifications for proposed solution.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to development teams.
• Evaluating and recommending tools, technology stack and deployment methods for timely and quality delivery.

Our ideal person will have:

• Previous experience in software development and hands on experience in delivery.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, sales and operations team, project team members.
• Ability to elicit business and architectural information from others and document it as part of solution designs, including demonstration of how solutions meet business and standards.
• Track record of meeting deadlines in a high pressure, fast paced environment while managing multiple projects.
• Experience in designing and delivering hybrid cloud enterprise solution using IaaS, PaaS and SaaS models.
• Experience in application modularisation and modernisation including adoption of Micro Service Architecture models.

Technical experience and awareness of:

• Web Technologies – JSF 2 / Bootstrap 3 & 4 / ASP.NET / Angular / React
• Operating Systems -Microsoft Windows Server 2012 & 2016 / Solaris 11 / RedHat Linux 7
• Databases – Microsoft SQL Server 2016 / Oracle Database 12 & 19
• Development language/s / platforms: Java EE / PLSQL / .NET
• Docker containers and Kubernetes container-orchestration
• Web/Application servers: Oracle WebLogic 11 & 12 / Apache Tomcat 9 / JBoss EAP 6 & 7 / IIS 7
• Middleware: JBoss FUSE / JMS Messaging / Microsoft BizTalk 2016
• Workflow Engines: RedHat JBPM 7
• Cloud – AWS, Azure, GCP
• Tools – Jira, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Bitbucket, Splunk

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in a similar role working in utilities (gas and electricity) industry.
• Experience with Billing and Customer Care Systems.
