What is the job?
As an inside sales engineer, you will learn the ins and outs of detection and light source generation as well as the applications that use it. This entry level position is aimed to give candidates from across multiple disciplines an introduction to photonics, electronics, optics, and Hamamatsu technology. You will also be learning the techniques used for cutting edge research, medical, industrial, and commercial applications. You will learn consultative selling techniques that help you to build relationships and work closely with customers to help them to be successful. This position offers a fantastic career path and provides the background and foundation for continued growth in our sales organizations. Who are we looking for?
We are calling all engineering (electrical, mechanical, optical, etc.), physics, biology, chemistry, microscopy, and optics-related majors to apply! Successful candidates will exhibit proactivity, a thirst for learning new things, and enjoyment of working with people and teams, and in interest in pursuing a career in sales. Previous customer service or sales experience in a related or unrelated field is desired, but not necessary. Hamamatsu takes pride in our new hire training program so previous experience in photonics is a plus but also not necessary.
