The Role

We are seeking a part time Student Welfare Officer to join our dedicated team at Keysborough, commencing immediately. Your primary responsibility is to maintain a supervisory presence to the student body across the campus and to uphold the expectations of the School, with a focus on attendance, behaviour and personal appearance of students. Reporting to the Senior Vice Principal & Head of Senior Schools, the Student Welfare Officer works closely with the Head of Senior Girls and the relevant Heads of House regarding disciplinary matters by and may consult with them, if necessary, for any input that may assist.

Responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities:

• Assisting with student investigations and other breaches of discipline by maintaining accurate records
• Oversee and manage accurate maintenance of school records by inputting details of absences in a timely manner
• Liaise with Head of Senior Girls and relevant Heads of House on discipline and other matters
• Maintaining consistent collection of data on School Students pertaining to certain emergency matters set out in DISPLAN
• Supervision of after school detentions including the student café, tuckshop and Haileybury Girls College locker bays
• Maintaining acceptable levels of general behaviour, dress and punctuality of students at school, on buses generally, and at special events as requested by the Senior Vice Principal and Head of Senior Schools

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role you will bring the following with you:

• Excellent verbal, written and communications skills in conjunction with strong time management
• An ability to use your innovative problem-solving skills to propose workable solutions
• An ability to display strong communication skills whilst working closely with students, parents and teachers
• An ability to respond to the differing needs and talents of all students especially in relation to gender differences.

In addition to the above you will have great enthusiasm and a passion for student inspiration with the ability to offer guidance and support.
