Hodder Education is looking for a Publishing Assistant to provide administrative support to our busy and friendly publishing team. The job involves editorial and administrative tasks relating to a wide range of books and digital resources for schools.
Who we are looking for
You will be highly efficient with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will need to liaise with different teams across the company, as well as schools, authors and external partners. A can-do attitude is essential, along with a proven ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
An interest in educational publishing will be an advantage.
What we offer
You will be joining a friendly, committed team of skilled publishing colleagues, working together to produce books and resources we can all be proud of. As part of Hachette UK, you will also have the opportunity to benefit from company-wide schemes such as training and mentoring. In addition to 25 days annual leave per year + bank holidays, we have an extensive list of benefits that include: Cycle to Work vouchers, Private Medical Insurance, eye care vouchers, up to 70% off book purchases, 2 volunteer days per year to use at your charity of choice, many employee networks to join, season ticket loans, rent deposit loans, generous pension schemes and much more!
This role can be based at our London office, or at any of our regional offices (Banbury, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield and Bristol), with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
Our Commitment
Hachette employs people on the basis of their abilities. We aim to attract and develop talent from a base as broad as the world of readers we want to reach, with a wide and representative range of age, faith, disability, race, gender, sexuality and socio-economic, regional and cultural backgrounds.
If you are shortlisted and need us to make any adjustments to help you attend for interview, please let us know.
The Book Trade Charity offers financial support to people looking to enter the book trade but who may struggle to afford the costs of attending interviews and undertaking junior roles. For more information visit www.booktradeentrysupport.org
