Research and Education Programme Assistant

Additionally, supporting the turning of research into action (Knowledge Mobilisation) and translation of research related to improving health.

POSITION TITLE: Research and Education Programme Assistant

JOB STATUS: Permanent, Part-time

HOURS: 25 hours per week (core hours 10 am – 3 pm)

SALARY: £22,425 pro rata

JOB SUMMARY: The Research and Education Programme Assistant is responsible for the research, development and delivery of mental health recovery-oriented training programmes / learning sessions to a variety of groups. Focusing on a recovery, resiliency, and prevention model, the position will be responsible for developing mental health curriculum and online content. The role is also responsible for researching new and emerging mental health interventions and supporting with collecting and analysing programme data.

Role responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Head of Research, Impact, and Evaluation to create programme materials and conduct research.
• Developing materials, sessions, and webinars and delivering training sessions.
• Conducting interviews or focus groups and reporting findings in writing or by visual presentations.
• Research and report on the availability of local resources and opportunities within specific communities.

• Research new, emerging, and underutilised health and community interventions. Identify those that have a positive impact on individual and community health and social wellbeing.
• Communicating complex theories and evidence in a clear, accessible and jargon-free manner both written and verbally.
• Collecting and supporting with the analysis of data on delivered programmes and initiatives to measure their impact.
• Conducting needs assessments and environmental scans.
• Working in collaboration with people with lived experience.
• Researching community needs and evidence for health and community interventions.
• Planning and scheduling and assisting programme events.

Experience required:

• Experience creating curriculum or training for adult learners using multiple learning strategies and evidence bases.
• Ability to present and facilitate group sessions in a positive, engaging, and interactive manner.
• Ability to interpret, communicate and implement complex information.
• Strong collaborative and relationship-building skills with key stakeholders.
• An ability to relate to, motivate and empathise with a range of people from different backgrounds.
• Online and in-person workshop and event delivery.
• Ability to conduct a detailed review of recent literature

Things that would be great, but not essential:

• An undergraduate degree in education or social sciences is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of or experience in the mental health/addiction field, homelessness, DEI, youth work, or social care with an understanding of the recovery model and peer support.
• Knowledge and experience in prevention, engagement, and promotion in health.
• Research experience.
• Knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures.
