Haberdashers’ Borough Academy Hiring for Librarian (44 weeks) Job at Southwark, England Full Time

- To support the school by managing, maintaining and promoting the school library and teacher resources
- Support the teaching staff by identifying and buying quality resources for the school library to deliver the National Curriculum
- Develop and promote the role of the library within the Academy, ensuring active engagement in diversity and equality issues
- Select, acquire, maintain and withdraw library stock, ensuring a balance between subject and ability levels, and show an active engagement in diversity and equality issues with the agreement of the SLT
- Prepare and maintain the electronic school librarian management information system
- Organise, catalogue and classify library resources
- Monitor individual loaning and undertake actions to recoup costs for lost or damaged titles
- To collect fines in relation to print services
- In collaboration with the Principal, manage the Academy’s library budget
- To help staff and library users with the library equipment and literature queries
- To ensure the security of the library collection
- To assist with the maintenance of the library environment by helping to keep the area tidy and organised
To register and update users on the library s computer system, ensuring they are given the correct borrowing rights.
To assist with the induction of new learners.
