Here at GXO we are looking for an HR professional to partner our Drinks Business covering both our Primary and Secondary sites in the North. This role covers a wide geographical area within the North, therefore flexibility is a prerequisite. It’s a great time to join the Drinks team as the Business Unit is currently undergoing a period of change, with the aim of being a more profitable part of the GXO portfolio, this means that the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of projects in addition to the generalist HR activities.

We’re looking to offer a salary of between £55,000 – £60,000 per annum, plus a car allowance of £595 pcm, in addition we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Business partner operational management in a unionised environment. You will be able to demonstrate success in delivering a comprehensive HR portfolio within a busy changing environment
Support the establishment of the required leadership standards and capability at all levels of the business via leadership development, management training, succession planning, relationship building etc.
Lead, support and advise across the full spectrum of employee relations and employment law, including grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals, TUPE and welfare issues.
Union engagement, negotiation and consultation are key factors in this role with operational colleagues being represented by Unite and GMB. The ability to have a productive interface with our trade union colleagues is essential. In addition you will be expected to provide ER guidance and case-work ownership whilst challenging managers on their process and approach. This will include supporting any Employment Tribunals in order to ensure any risks are highlighted and minimized
What you need to succeed at GXO
CIPD qualified, with experience at a minimum of HR Manager level
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR Policy, practice, employee relations
Experience of all IR activity including Tupe, consultation, union negotiation & change management approaches
Excellent communication skills across several boundaries and the ability to build rapport with key stakeholders
The ability to effectively manage a team consisting of both direct and indirect reports
