GVF Group of Companies Hiring for Plant Operations Assistant at Cambridge, ON Full Time

GVF is looking to add an experienced Plant Operations Assistant to support our team in Cambridge, Ontario. This is a unique position where you will be required to be highly knowledgeable and trained in order to step into a number of different positions within the department. As the Plant Operations Assistant, you will provide support within production, loading, warehouse, delivery and general maintenance and have the ability to seamlessly fill in or float from one job to the next when needed. You will help cover time off on all shifts ensuring that production and delivery can continue to operate efficiently, accurately, safely and at the highest level of quality with minimal errors. What you’ll do:

• Assist with manufacturing customer orders on time so products can be shipped on schedule
• Schedule and sequence manufactured products and trucks properly
• Ensure all manufactured products are labelled correctly
• Work with the computer automated batching system and run the automated bagging and packaging lines
• Assist with ingredient set up, inventory and rotating stock (FIFO)
• Help with repair and maintenance of equipment
• Load and unload delivery trucks ensuring products are organized in an accurate manner both on and off the truck
• Input data into our accounting system, create purchase orders and receive product into the system
• Assist with completing general indoor and outdoor facility, property and building maintenance including but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, garbage, yard maintenance, shoveling snow, cleaning drains, etc.
• Handle emergency deliveries and pickups with the GVF pickup truck as required
• Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times
• Follow HACCP, CFIA and Health and Safety protocols and use PPE where required

Your background includes:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
• A Valid G Driver’s License in good standing
• Experience operating a Forklift
• Physically fit with the ability to repetitively lift 25 kg bags
• Ability to work all shifts is required
• Must be a positive team player
• Time management and organizational skills
• Keen eye for detail and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position based out of Cambridge, Ontario. Due to the nature of this role and the variety of roles and responsibilities within this position, the working hours will vary depending on the position you are being required to fill that day. You will be guaranteed 35-40 hours per week. Below is a list of the shifts required under each role:

• Production
• 7:00am to 4:00pm
• 3:30pm to 12:00am
• 11:00pm to 7:30am

• Warehouse
• 8:00am to 4:30pm

• Loading
• 9:00pm to 5:30am

• Maintenance
• 8:00am to 4:30pm
