GVF Group of Companies Hiring for Dispatch and Customer Service Representative at Cambridge, ON Full Time

GVF is looking to add an experienced Dispatch and Customer Service Representative to our team in Cambridge, Ontario. In this role you will look after dispatching, routing and scheduling GVF’s delivery team and fleet to ensure that we meet the daily needs of our customers. You will also be responsible for supporting the order desk team with incoming orders and calls. As the successful candiates for this position, you will need to be highly organized and efficient, flexible and able to respond/solve problems quickly and be a true customer service professional!

What you’ll do: *

• Be the primary dispatcher, executing the day-to-day outbound and inbound logistics of the Ontario delivery team and vehicles to meet our customers’ needs.
• Organize and schedule the daily routes for Ontario including coordinating trucking schedules for outbound premix and feed deliveries, completing dispatch paperwork, driver’s manifests, loader’s manifests, etc.
• Work with our customer service team and partner feed mills to ensure products being picked up are ready to be loaded when our delivery team arrives.
• Monitor the delivery teams hours of service for compliance.
• Ensure delivery team vehicle maintenance schedule is followed to minimize downtime.
• Utilize and coordinate third party trucking loads for Ontario.
• Ensure supplier pickups are looked after in Ontario as arranged by the Ontario purchaser.
• Provide support to the customer service team during peak times and absences.
• Receive and process customer phone calls and orders.
• Be able to learn and use our ERP systems and understand the processes for taking and processing customer’s orders.
• Upsell product lines to customers over the phone.

Your background includes:

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma or 2+ years experience in agriculture, business or a similar field
• Experience working as a dispatcher or in a similar position
• Experience working in a customer service role in required
• Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with Omnitracs Dispatching Software is an asset
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and cooperatively work with a variety of departments

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our Main Street location in Cambridge, Ontario. Our delivery team arrives by or before 6:30 AM and must be on the road by 7 AM. The team works until their deliveries are complete and their truck is returned to the GVF yard at the end of the day. Delivery staff is scheduled (on a rotating basis) one day off per week (besides Saturday or Sunday). The Customer Service Order Desk hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 6 PM.

Normal working hours for this position is from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. From time to time, it will be necessary to field calls after hours and/or on weekends to ensure deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
