The Data, Technology and Information directorate is going through a significant period of change as we move forward with a number of strategic technology programmes including cloud first implementation, modernised network capabilities and stabilisation of infrastructure and operating systems. These programmes all support the Trust’s digital ambitions, which is underpinned by the significant investment in a new Electronic Health Record (EHR), which will catalyse a programme of work across the Trust to transform the way technology and data is used across our services.
This is an office-based role in Central London.
The Software Asset Manager role is critical to the overall Asset management service provided by the DT&I Dept to the Trust in ensuring the Compliance of the Trust in its Licencing and tracking of Software assets.
Software asset Manager (SAM) is a business practice that involves managing and optimising the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilisation, and disposal of software applications within an organisation. With software licenses and maintenance representing a
large portion of a typical IT budget, preventing under or overspending on these assets have become a critical business objective.
The post holder will ensure that software assets supporting the business applications are managed and controlled, defined, agree and implement processes and ongoing management controls, governance and methodologies to ensure software licence
compliance is maintained within the Trust and police the compliance with legal and contractual obligations and supporting software policies.
They will manage activities together with the Technology Asset Manager and be responsible for negotiating vendor contracts and analysing proposal to acquire software licenses whilst maintaining current knowledge of software changes and planning changes appropriate in response to business needs.

The Directorate provides services and products that are used across the Trust. We work closely with the South East London Integrated Care System, and especially with our partners in Kings Health Partners (KHP), Kings College Hospital (KCH), King’s College London (KCL) and the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (RBH). This will be formalised into a shared service operating model that will be deployed across GSTT, KCH and RBH.
