What can you expect:
EMEA Business Intelligence is a four person team based in London that collaborates on building actionable insights to support GC’s brokers and strategic advisory teams in winning and retaining insurance clients’ business. Our work makes extensive use of company and industry level financial reports, as well as GC and third party data and research.
EMEA Business Intelligence is part of Global Business Intelligence with colleagues in New York, Seattle, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. We have wide range of experience in the sector, are comfortable with ambiguity, possess a curiosity mind-set, are creative story tellers, pragmatically commercial and are committed to developing talent and knowledge for the future of GC’s business and its growth.
Whilst this is an entry level type position, you will be given the tools, technology and guidance to support you on your journey to develop your knowledge and understanding of the (re)insurance industry from an economic, financial and strategic perspective. This role will be a steep learning curve into our industry, however, provides you with an exceptional platform from which to carve out a longer term career in GC broking & strategic advisory teams.

We will rely on you to:
To contribute pro-actively to the work of Guy Carpenter’s Business Intelligence (BI) whose role is to support brokers with context, financial analysis, insight and opinion for the purpose of winning of new business and defending current positions.
Analysis of clients’ quarterly financial information and other newsflow.
Preparation of financial information for RFPs and RFIs.
Preparation of peer analyses and associated commentary.
Production of information for internal and external stewardship meetings.
Respond to one off requests from brokers, clients and markets.
Create ad hoc presentations and participate in client meetings
Assist with research for bespoke GC publications and presentations.
Collaborate with other GC colleagues in London and other international offices.
What you need to have:
Strong communication skills in English – written and spoken.
Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and form own opinions based on analysis and critical thinking.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word, but also some knowledge of Power BI and other visualisation tools is desirable.
Working knowledge of financial markets.
What makes you stand out:
Relevant degree (e.g. Finance, Economics, Business).
Experience in re/insurance accounting and financial reporting desirable.
Strong understanding of the sector’s drivers and issues.
