Gunflint Lodge & Outfitters Hiring for Staffing Specialist/Human Resources Generalist Full Time

Gunflint Lodge & Outfitters, the premier vacation resort and canoe outfitter on the Gunflint Trail, is seeking an experienced staffing specialist or human resources generalist to help us develop a great team and make our employment environment as world-class as our natural environment. This position is a full-time salaried position and also includes onsite housing at a discounted rate, as well as discounts on restaurant, gift shop, and use of recreational equipment and actvities. Will train for the right personality and skill set.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruiting and hiring year-round and seasonal staff, developing applicant and employee engagement initiatives
• Developing and delivering employee on-boarding and training and development
• Develop and administer employee policies and procedures
• Coordinate with Payroll department to manage employee compensation and leaves
• Develop and assist in performance management
• Enhance job satisfaction by developing employee enhancements, introducing new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities

Requirements

• Understanding of general recruiting human resources policies and procedures
• Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
• Willingness to work in multiple departments as required by business need

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a hospitality or resort environment
• Experience with marketing programs and techniques including SEO, Google, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram
• Experience with PMS/POS systems
