GTI Energy Hiring for Engineer (Chemical) at Des Plaines, IL Full Time

Support a broad research portfolio of coal/biomass gasification, methane conversion programs, CO2 capture and utilization, combustion, and renewable energy technologies including solar thermal, hydrogen, and ammonia. Duties: develop process models in Aspen or similar software; draft process flow diagrams, piping, and instrument diagrams; size equipment; estimate project costs; perform hazard analysis on novel technologies; provide pilot plant operational support; support proposal writing process.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering plus 4 years experience in gasification, methane conversion, CO2 capture, or hydrogen generation. In lieu of bachelor’s plus experience, master’s degree in Chemical Engineering plus 6 months experience with software tools for process simulation, process flow diagram computer aided drafting, and a bench scale chemistry/chemical engineering laboratory.
