About the Role
Are you energized by a procurement role that allows you to make a contribution to the world’s biggest Startup? If so, this Global Category & Sourcing Manager role at Haleon could be an ideal opportunity to explore.
As a Global Senior Category & Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for category management and sourcing activities within HR Services & Professional Services categories, which include management consultancy and financial business services, legal, employee benefits and HR services. This role will involve working with stakeholders from across Haleon, including business line leadership as well as local procurement contacts.
This role will report to the Global Category Director for the PS & HR categories, which consists of a direct team of six procurement professionals who manage consultancy, financial services, insurance, legal, employee benefits, mobility, HR services and fleet spend. This team is part of the Corporate Services Procurement team of thirty people. The Global Procurement function at Haleon consists of about 250 people across the globe.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates who can support in delivering the Procurement strategy for these categories, along with a wide variety of day to day activities. It is important to have an eye for detail but also be able to think strategically about your category areas. The ability to get things done today whilst having a focus on Haleon’s longer term objectives is vital. We invite applications from candidates who have experience in just some or all of the categories listed above, because we are open to shaping the role to the right candidate.
On a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis, this role will involve:
Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers within your category areas
Building relationships with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and build a pipeline of projects to meet our Procurement targets
Running initiatives within your category to support our Sustainability and Diversity objectives, which are key priorities for Haleon
Building the category strategy for your category areas and creating a plan to implement it
Managing complex sourcing projects and leading negotiations with suppliers on commercial and technical matters
Identifying opportunities to introduce new technology or improvements into your categories
Meeting with suppliers to manage their performance but also grow strategic partnerships
Providing updates to Senior Leadership on key performance metrics for your categories, such as: spend, savings, supplier mix, sustainability performance.
Leading the Supplier Relationship Management programme for your categories
Category housekeeping such as the pipeline of expiring contracts, tracking savings performance, PSL maintenance
Keeping up to date with industry trends through webinars, conferences and networking opportunities
Working with support teams to ensure our systems, policies and processes are tailored to your categories
Working with Legal, Finance and IT teams who may be leading or contributing to any of the activities above.
Basic Requirements
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
More than 3 years of experience in a procurement category management and/or sourcing role.
More than 1-2
years’ experience within the Professional Services categories listed above
Experience of developing category strategies and creating plans to implement them
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Advanced Degree in Business Management, Mathematics, or Business Operations (MA, MSc, MBA or equivalent)
CIPS or ISM, or equivalent procurement or supply chain qualification
Experience within the Financial Business Services category (audit, assurance, banking services and insurance
