This role of Director of Health and Safety International will lead the H&S function across the International businesses. Work with the wider group to define the H&S strategy and advise the International Executive Committee on H&S related priorities with a focus on eliminating fatalities. Build capability in the businesses by implementing the required processes, improvement programmes and training.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and execute on the talent sourcing strategy for the international businesses in support of business goals.
• To control the recruitment process for all vacancies in your portfolio (senior SG&A roles) through comprehensive and accurate use of the Applicant Tracking Solution (ATS) and direct resourcing channels, from recruitment approval to verbal offer and handover to HR.
• Ensuring that all vacancies have an up to date job description and person specification (written around our company values)
• In conjunction with the Allied Universal Training, Development and Organisation Effectiveness team, develop our Employer Brand strategy and implement our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) messaging across all international businesses.
• Guide and motivate the remote talent acquisition teams, ensuring an effective, standard and consistent candidate experience for all applicants (including application, interviews, and communication)
• Ensure the local resourcing teams understand our D&I strategy and deliver qualified and diverse talent for current and anticipated roles in the organisation
• Develop partnerships with “best-in-class” search firms that specialise in diverse candidate sourcing. Educate these partners about the Allied Universal – International brand promise, culture, and our commitment to diversity.
• Ensure we have accurate and timely resourcing data to identify key insights, monitor trends, and ensure we are meeting any global and local KPI’s.
• Continuously review our processes to drive improvements and changes, setting high standards for speed and quality
• Partner with the broader talent acquisition teams for shared use of tools and resources and ensuring we leverage global best practice locally
• Support the Chief HR Officer – Allied Universal – International in providing HR support to Corporate Services employees as required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Chartered member of the CIPD or learning equivalent
• Proven and successful recruiter
• Solid experience of conversing with stakeholders at senior/board level
• Experience of attracting new talent, via advertising, social media (LinkedIn ‘Recruiter’ expertise beneficial), networking, referrals, research and other talent search methods
• Ability to negotiate and work alongside talent suppliers professionally and effectively
• Passionate about acting as a credible ambassador for Allied Universal – International and confident acting as ‘the face’ of the business
• Good personal organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
• Experience of working professionally in a highly confidential environment
• Experience of taking comprehensive job briefs and working with senior stakeholders to polish the recruitment plan
• Experience of using an applicant tracking solution
• Generalist HR experience desirable
• Effectively initiate relationships and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders, ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation
