You’ll work in a small cross-functional team consisting of other software engineers, where a strong technical foundation is necessary. As an engineer, you should have a depth of experience and should be able to confidently solve problems with clean and simple solutions. It’s not just about the technical skills, too. An essential part of being an engineer here is to grow others. This could be by a combination of mentoring / coaching / teaching, or it could be by sharing your experience with others. One of the company’s core beliefs is that small teams do great things, so engineers must be team players. They should recognise the feelings of others and adapt their approach and be the person that others want to work with. They should have strong opinions but always be willing to change direction based on other ideas or new evidence. Sometimes, decisions will be made that people disagree with – if that happens, it’s important to disagree and commit to the new course of action. You’ll also be educated to a degree level in Computer Science, or a related subject.
