Job Description

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at GROW, you will enjoy building and supporting data transformation pipelines and dashboards that reduce time to actionable insights. You will encounter interesting challenges daily that you will build impactful solutions for by working with complex data in a highly regulated environment. You will execute all that, and more, through the following engineering activities:

• Hands-on data transitioning and provision of clean and appropriate data sets/views to enable data extraction, transformation, and loading requirements.
• Build transformation pipelines and visualisation dashboards leveraging established patterns and practices.
• Contribute to the data transformation scripting activities leveraging dimensional modeling tools and techniques.
• Implement tests in the transformation scripts and mappings of data sets as the shape changes from source to target systems.
• Peer review and merge code into release branches and package release notes.
• Continuously elevate and support the performance and optimization of all data transformation pipelines by applying engineering best practices to code, including versioning, code reviews, automated testing, and CICD.
• Be self-sufficient in executing technical proof of concepts and knowledge transfer to the team.
• Prioritise and continuously monitor and assess data risks both in-flight and at rest. Implement solutions and mitigations that ensure required compliance.
• Provide input into the discovery and solution phase for Business/Client needs, assessing risk in exposing data and working in line with GROW’s risk framework
• Work under the ‘Team Lead – Data’ to contribute to business cases put forward to GROW’s Leadership Teams.
• Support the ‘Team Lead – Data’ in communicating and documenting the delivery and handover of built solutions to the relevant internal/external stakeholders

Qualifications

At GROW, we believe that experience and passion matter more than just qualifications on paper. However, to be successful in this role, the mandatory skills we’re looking for include:

• Experience working in a data team with data migration exposure.
• Advanced SQL scripting leveraging serverless technologies.
• Experience with visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, Metabase).
• Experience in dimensional modeling techniques (e.g. Kimball Star Schema).
• Cloud data lakes and data warehouse platform experience on any of the major cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience working with Personal Identifying Information (PII).
• Agile ways of working experience.

It would also be advantageous if you have:

• Experience in a modern data stack, working with tools such as Databricks and dbt.
• A Computer Science degree or equivalent.
• Financial industry experience or working with data in a highly regulated environment.
