Griffith Foods Hiring for Quality Technologist Finished Product – GFCA – Plant Quality at Toronto, ON Full Time

Position Summary:
To make a positive contribution, enabling Griffith Foods Canada to continue to grow and operate in an effective, efficient and profitable manner. Perform analysis of all finished products, determine the status based on the results and ensure safety and quality of products. This position is a 1 year contract.

Major Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to Quality Manager of Griffith Foods Canada on an ongoing basis and communicates all relevant matters pertaining to Quality Systems.
• Monitors functions of Quality Lab and operations to promote more appropriate systems, testing methods and practices, and follows-up on changes.
• Co-ordinates various laboratory programs which may include some and/or all of the following:
• Equipment calibration.
• Purchasing.
• Electronic records systems.
• Safety program.
• Continually upgrades skills of other Quality staff members by training and discussion.
• Troubleshoots analysis, equipment and production issues in QS lab and manufacturing areas, maintains proper documentation.Prepares technical reports.
• Perform Environmental Swabs, ATP Swabs, Pre-OP Inspections as required.
• Participates in various internal audits (Quality Systems, GMP, and Food Safety), as required.
• Performs analysis on finished product samples to ensure they meet specifications.Some analysis of raw materials may be required.

Maintains proper laboratory records (written and computer) and provides results in the required format.Prepares reports, as required.

• Communicates with other departments to provide results and technical support, as required.
• Conducts on-line product and process inspection and/or audits.
• Assists in the investigation of customer complaints and dispositions of out-of-date materials.
• Performs Q.A. Lab First Batch Manufacturing function, as scheduled.
• Acquires and maintains the necessary skills and knowledge through reading and training in new areas.
• Updates and maintains various aspects of plant quality system, as instructed.

Qualifications:

• The job requires the application of analytical, administrative and communication skills acquired through a University degree program, preferably in Food Science.
• 1-2 years’ hands on experience
