Grid is seeking a hands-on, experienced Director of Finance to provide overall strategic and day-to-day finance and accounting guidance for the company. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing company-wide systems & processes specifically within our ERP system (Epicor). Additional responsibilities include budgeting and long-term planning, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting, and leading any financial integration work with other business units. As a key member of the Grid leadership team, this role will participate in decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, sales, operating model and operational execution. Directly leading a small team, this role will report to the President and will be the senior accounting/finance person in the company. This role is considered a “hybrid” role in that experience in operations and SOP development is just as crucial as the accounting/finance piece. An extremely rewarding position that will make an immediate impact and take on more responsibility in the long-term as the company continues to grow. With any start-up, this role will wear a multitude of hats that a start-up firm requires.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Proven ability to effectively lead the finance and accounting functions for a business unit of similar size/scope, typically acquired through 7+ plus years of progressive management/leadership experience within both finance and accounting roles. Strong financial and business acumen, to include GAAP. Specific experience in manufacturing is needed.
• ERP implementation experience specific to manufacturing
• Excellent MS Excel proficiency, ability to provide sophisticated analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively gather, synthesize, analyze and confidently package/present financial and business information to key executives. Must be an effective communicator and influencer, both verbally and in writing to include emails and presentations.
• Team player that is committed to a teamwork environment, leading by example with a hands on approach to get things done. Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.

Job Description:

• Manage the monthly close process in compliance with US GAAP while ensuring all required transactions are accurately recorded in the month.
• Lead the full integration of our ERP system (Epicor) company-wide. Ensure continually improving processes to receive accurate and timely information and reports out of the system.
• Manage a team that completes general accounting functions and when needed have a “hands on” approach to accomplish tasks. (i.e. entering and auditing sales & purchasing transactions, reconciling accounts, maintain fixed assets listing, manage SBA loan summary and draws, manage, maintain and report commissions and/or bonuses and manage inventory.
• Apply principles of manufacturing cost accounting to provide detailed cost information including labor distribution, direct labor & absorption, and inventory.

• HR Functions (payroll, Healthcare, employee files, new hire & terminations).
• Identify areas of improvement in financial accounting applications and operational procedures and effectively communicate these value-added solutions to the leadership team.
• Support operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork between all functions. Maintaining honest and ethical conduct, including the ethical handling of all confidential information.
