GreenSight Agronomics Hiring for Accounting Specialist Job at Remote Full Time

Greensight, Inc. has a rewarding opportunity for a Part Time Accounting Specialist in the Boston area or vicinity. The position can be MOSTLY REMOTE, but the candidate has to be able to get to our downtown Boston office a few times a month.

We are a small but rapidly growing innovative non-bureacratic company, doing fascinating cutting edge work on drones and robotics.

This position answers to the Controller. The qualified candidate will be part of our accounting team. The Accounting Specialist will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and operations of the finance department and overall operations with special emphasis on accounts payable and accounts receivable.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor files staying compliant with company policy including procuring certificates of insurance, licenses and W-9’s on all vendors

• Monthly journal entries and reconciliations to assist Accounting Manager

• Timecard and Charge Code set up as needed

• Assist with month end closing

• Reconcile paid time off balances and accruals monthly

• Support accounting staff as needed

• General Accounting projects when needed

• Accounts Payable

• Process and enter invoices after approval

• Assist in following up on problem invoices

• Prepare Aged AP summary report for management

• Accounts Receivable

• Receive & process payments from customers by monitoring due date, resolving sales order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies

• Assist in Accounts Receivable collections

• Assist in monthly account billings

These are the skills and qualifications we are looking for in a candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting (any industry)

• Must communicate clearly and effectively

• High degree of organization and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable including invoicing and statement reconciliation

• Basic mathematic, accounting, and financial skills

• Experience with automating finance reports and functions using scripts in Python or similar

• Willing to learn new tasks

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• QuickBooks Online experience preferred, but not required
