THE ROLE
As Management Accountant you will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate financial information and advice to key stakeholders in GPAP.
There is a strong emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, tracking expenditure to specific funding and report development. The role has aspects of financial accounting, being responsible for monthly postings and reconciliations. It will be key to uphold compliance with local and international accounting standards; internal policies and procedures; taxation and other relevant statutory obligations within and across the countries in which GPAP operates.
The Management Accountant works closely with the GPAP Leadership Team to ensure the use of resources are optimised. In order to fulfil this role it is essential that the role work closely with key personnel across the organisation in order to identify the business drivers and track relevant revenue and expenditure. A key aspect of the role will be to assess financial position and performance and be capable of communicating relevant, meaningful information that helps the organisation optimise the use of its financial resources in pursuit of its objectives.
Being part of a small team, this role is required to be familiar with all operational facets of the finance function and provide direct support to the various roles within the team and to provide backup support during times of leave.
This role will proactively identify opportunities for improvement in financial policy and processes to enhance decision making, strengthen financial controls and improve efficiencies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal applicant has accounting qualifications and at least three years’ experience in a similar role, with a track record of business partnering and collaboration across the organisation, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, advanced spread-sheet skills and excellent attention to detail.
You will thrive in this role if you have good communication and relationship building skills and a passion for the environment.
Experience in a for-purpose / not-for-profit context will be highly regarded.

Salary $86,188.42 per annum + Superannuation.
This role is based in Sydney. Our new (in 2022!) HQ is in Rosebery.
