THE ROLE
This is a brilliant opportunity for a go-getting Assistant Accountant to join our professional finance team in contributing to a just and healthy planet.
This part-time (21 hours per week) role requires a high level of focus to ensure the monthly accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
Joining a close-knit team of five, you will be exposed to all facets of the finance function, and have opportunities to develop and showcase your talents.
Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Prepare monthly: reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to general Ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly BAS returns
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets;
• Prepare a weekly cash flow to manage weekly cash requirements;
• Ensure information is accurately and logically filed for organisational records; and
• Build positive working relationships and support the organisation to achieve its objectives
• Become familiar with most facets of the Finance function in order to provide cover or support for Accounts Payable and Payroll.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are an experienced Assistant Accountant who is well-versed in accounting principles, able to work confidently with finance data and with great attention to detail. You will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role including processing and batching database records and a sound understanding of accounting systems and processes.
The ideal candidate would also have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in Accounts Payable or Bookkeeping
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM databases
• A demonstrated ability to work efficiently towards tight deadlines
• A commitment and passion about the Greenpeace mission.

Pro-rata Annual salary (21 hours per week): $43,266.83 plus superannuation.
This role is based in Sydney. Our new (in 2022!) HQ is in Rosebery.
