About the Job
We are seeking a Software Technical Lead to join our Software team. This role is responsible for the Embedded PC and Safety PLC software platforms and their timely integration with Greenlight fuel cell test systems. This role reports to the Software Department Manager.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to a small team of software developers
Responsible for the architecture of Embedded PC and safety PLC software platforms
Participate alongside other developers in the development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation of the above platforms using Object Oriented Structured Text
Develop systems to automate configuration and deployment activities
Provide support and training to System Integration and Customer Service departments
Support the hiring and training of new staff
Other duties as required
Skills and Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Control Systems, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience developing software using Object Oriented Programming
Experience managing the architecture of large software applications and libraries
Experience providing technical leadership to a team of developers
Considered Assets – Not Required
Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation: P&ID, I/O lists, electrical drawings, BOMs, and description of operations
Familiarity with Fieldbus and serial communication (EtherCAT, RS-232, CANbus)
Experience with IEC-61131 structured text and function block diagrams
Troubleshooting skills of electro-mechanical systems
Knowledge of safety systems and their associated design concept
Experience with Beckhoff PLC Software (TwinCAT)
Experience programming in C#
