The OHS Manager will provide health and safety guidance to operations to help comply with our policies, standards and jurisdictional regulations and will serve as a strategic business partner providing technical subject matter expertise and guidance on hazard recognition and risk mitigation controls through active engagement with front line leaders and workers. Responsibilities include:
Organize, manage, maintain, and administer Greenlight Innovations Health & Safety program.
Provide Health and Safety coaching to managers and safety committee representatives.
Provide safety management system education and mentoring to supervisors.
Prepare reports and related recommendations, develop measurable corrective actions, monitor for continuous improvement, and take appropriate action when safety policy, procedure or regulations are not being adhered to.
Maintain and manage safety documentation, databases, records, reports, etc.
Monitor and advise on changes relating to Health and Safety.
Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees as part of onboarding activities.
Attend the monthly Joint Occupational Health & Safety meeting, safety inspections and follow up with corrective actions.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and perform risk assessments.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of related work experience in a safety role; NCSO and/or CRSP designations and/or completion of a degree/diploma in an accredited program in Occupational Health and Safety are considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of practices and regulations applicable to the manufacturing environment.
Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations for the province of BC (WorkSafeBC regulations and other applicable legislative requirements).
Experience in incident investigation causal analysis.
Skilled and experienced presenting and transferring knowledge related to safety.
Effective communicator with experience preparing and maintaining reports and records.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
