The Learning and Development Manager, focuses on the engagement, growth and development of our most important asset, our people. Providing the tools, resources and guidance to our employees to help them reach their full potential is front and foremost of this role.
What you will be doing….
Managing companywide design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs as well as ongoing learning opportunities across the organization, in support of the organizational needs including Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging.
Serves and advisor and technical expert in regard to the Learning and Development Management system.
Clearly communicates learning and development offerings companywide and ensures that programs and pathways are evident to employees and leaders in one single place.
Utilize a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs.
Conducting skills/competency gap analysis and rolling out improvement plan.
Manages the Green Academy Rotational Training Program, including being an ambassador for the company at college recruitment fairs.
Collaborates with Operational Leadership and People Team on 9-Box Succession planning.
Being a resource in the Manager/Trainee relationship, reinforcing training as a partnership.
Coaching supervisors in training and development of their employees.
Collaboration with People Team, to develop cultural awareness training, highlighting our global business, and promoting positive group interactions both with internal and external stakeholders.
Be comfortable with implementing quizzes for continuous learning and implementing gamification into.
Creates train the trainer programs, to empower employees at each location to offer training on-site.
Creates pathways for employees to grow in place, to make lateral moves and for promotion
How you will be successful….
Prior experience in the application of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
Ability to apply a variety of instructional techniques such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures to real-world situations and debrief activities to arrive at learning outcomes, both in person and virtually.
Experience developing successful training programs that have led to employee performance improvement and ultimately had a positive influence on the business’s overall performance and effectiveness.
Ability to apply current industry knowledge to select program delivery options best tailored for mixed groups, using a variety of software programs and technologies.
Demonstrated ability to direct several distinctly different projects simultaneously, involving various company programs, such as Academy Program, Leadership Development Program and Mentorship Programs.
Remaining current with Learning, Training, Development trends and best practices.
Prior experience with building out a Learning Management System (LMS).
Supply Chain/Freight Forwarding or logistics industry experience, a plus.
Human Resource Certification, a plus (SHRM, HRCI)
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a business related filed or have equivalent experience.
