Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. Management Accountant

Salary: $82,648.28 per annum

Closing: Friday 3 December 2021

Full Time – Temporary (2 February 2022 – 1 February 2023)

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a Management Accountant on a 12 month contract to join its Financial Reporting team within the Finance and Rates Department.

This position plays a key role in the development of Council’s annual budget and coordinates the Quarterly Forecast Review process and monthly financial performance reporting to stakeholders. The role also provides business partnering support to Council staff and focuses on capacity building in regards to Council’s financial management.

The role also provides support to the Financial Reporting team in ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger, the ongoing administration and maintenance of the organisation’s financial management system and asset accounting.

The successful applicant will be degree qualified, have highly developed communication skills and a sound understanding of finance management and budget control. They will also have the ability to understand their customers’ needs and positively influence stakeholders.

In line with the public health order issued by the Chief Health Officer under section 200 of Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic), this position has been identified as requiring a CoVid-19 Vaccination.
