About the Position

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the executive team with day-to-day accounting duties and coordinates accounts payable processing with the company’s vendors and suppliers. Candidates should be comfortable reconciling vendor statements and corporate credit cards, verifying the accuracy of transactional data.

The ideal candidate has three years of accounting experience, a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, initiative and an ease with numbers. Experience with QuickBooks (or Netsuite/other automated bookkeeping system) and MS Excel is required. Experience with retail accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Verify, code and post AP invoices and generate AP payments
• Process PO invoices using 3-way match, and check requests, ensuring proper approval and coding

• Resolve AP issues with vendors, set-up and maintain vendor files
• Identify and resolve payment issues for shipments with damages
• Work with the sales team on billing related to shipments with damages
• Reconcile credit card charges with posted invoices on Quickbooks
• Receive and reply to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure proper accounting of month-end and year-end invoice entry

• Help track and manage shipping claims through third party logistics

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting work
• Bachelors Degree or higher
• Proficiency with Quickbooks or Netsuite
• Proficiency with MS Excel, email and internet software
• Superior accuracy and attention to detail
• Takes initiative to learn about our products and services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
