A key representative of the Accounting and Control function, supporting 20 sites across APAC you will own and support the financial reporting, treasury and tax reporting processes.

Our Role

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant based in our Asia Pacific Headquarters in North Sydney the role will be reporting to our Senior Financial Accounting Leader in APAC, this role is part of a larger local and global Finance team and the ideal candidate will be part of an exciting phase of the Graymont journey. We are looking for a team player with a change-positive mindset, whilst demonstrating our key behaviours.

Key responsibilities include;

• Key month end financial reporting tasks will include general ledger maintenance in JD Edwards, balance sheet reconciliations and analytical review for APAC
• Perform month end closing activities such as general ledger entries accruals, Intercompany entries and reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting schedules.
• Administrator and champion of balance sheet reconciliation tool with a focus on driving process improvements and enhancements
• Maintain the integrity over the consolidated fixed asset register for all sites including posting of journals, monitoring work in process assets and preparation of Capex management reports
• Key team member in assisting the external audit process.
• Assist with tax compliance relating to company income tax, transfer pricing and tax reviews
• Support Finance and cross-functional projects with a focus on achieving business improvements and standardization such as process improvements and implementation
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements
• Ad hoc reporting and project work

You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for this role.

The successful candidate has qualification in Accounting or Business alongside a completed CPA or CA qualification or other related qualification. A commercial accounting experience preferably within the mining, manufacturing or related industries supporting a multi-site environment (JD Edwards is highly desirable), Advanced excel skills with experience using pivot tables and vlookups are essential for this role.
