Essential Functions:
Position Summary:
The Training Instructional Designer is responsible for planning, strategizing and developing training curriculum and aids based on the analysis of the organization’s training needs. This position also develops training evaluations, and monitors systems to ensure team members are performing job responsibilities according to training. Additional responsibilities include monitoring training costs against budgets.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino’s core values and demonstrating Exemplary Service Standards at all times.
2. Collaborate with management to assess the training needs of team members, departments, and the company.
3. Evaluate the competency levels of trainees to effectively develop materials for team members with different knowledge and skill levels.
4. Design leadership development materials and programs to support both the Trainer and learners in instructor-led and blended-training programs, taking account of adult-learning principles.
5. Develop documents that specify learning objectives, learning strategies, learning materials specifications, measures of student learning, and learning impact (business results).
6. Create storyboards, scripts and design course content (including simulations, when necessary).
7. Develop and/or modify materials to keep them vibrant and entertaining to engage audience.
8. Conduct research and interview subject matter experts to develop the most accurate training module.
9. Work with the training team, the marketing team, and outside vendors on proof reading and editing
training materials.
10. Work with the Training team to collaborate on training material.
11. Ensure training materials and programs are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
12. Determine instructional methods, such as individual training, group instruction, lectures,
demonstrations, conferences, meetings, workshops and e-learning.
13. Create hard copy and digital teaching aids, such as module summaries, multi-media visual aids,
training handbooks, computer tutorials, and presentations in cooperation with inhouse marketing
department and outside vendors.
14. Evaluate the outcomes of training sessions and develop monitoring systems to ensure that all team

Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
2. Three (3) to five (5) years training experience, with an emphasis on instructional design.
3. Must be creative in initiating new and unique ideas and training techniques.
4. Is up-to-date with current technologies and training methods.
5. Strong prioritization skills necessary to focus on critical components to achieve training goals.
6. Must possess strong analytical skills, business planning and project management skills.
7. Ability to work with varying levels of management to translate their areas of focus into training
programs that effectively communicate their message to the desired audience.
8. Displays strong organizational and time management skills.
9. Must possess strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, primarily PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and Word.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Ability to hear.
3. Ability to sit, walk, and stand for duration of shift.
4. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
