Purpose

The Accounting Manger responsibilities include preparation, maintenance, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly/yearly financial statements. Also assists with the monthly and quarterly forecasted statements, development of the annual plan. In addition, the accountant will provide analysis to the plant management around cost variances and provide/assist with presentations to explain the plants financial performance. Accountant will work closely with the Regional Controller at the Huntingdon site, to maintain consistency of accounting procedures across sites.

Job Responsibilities

· Month End Close – Journal Entries, Financial Statement Prep and Reporting (including variance analysis)

· Weekly report updates and metric reporting

· Responsible to maintain the integrity of ledger entries and accounting processes.

· Ensure monthly appropriate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.

· A/P approvals and liaison between Engineering/Receiving and Terry in Huntingdon

· Inventory control – movements and adjustments

· Provide audit information as needed

· Maintain a log of all journal entries to create an audit trail for all postings to the General Ledger

· Maintain detailed records of construction-in-progress and prepare fixed asset set up sheets when placed in service.

· Coordinate and conduct fixed asset physical inventories every 3 years as required by audit.

· Daily Shop Floor Editing and Costing. Maintain a working knowledge of production control system to aid in analysis work and fill in for absences as needed.

· Prepare yearly property tax returns.

· Interact with corporate personnel and plant management and prepare reports and analysis as requested.

· Coordinate and reconcile physical inventories.

· Support, encourage and participate in all improvement initiatives, and serve on teams as member or leader.

· Work in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to all safety rules and practices.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· CPA or CMA preferred.

· Must have knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn accounting software; database software; manufacturing software; Payroll systems

· Requires above average Microsoft excel skills

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious

· Travel as necessary
