POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently growing quickly and have created a new Training Designer role to write, produce, design and deliver training and course materials for our operations, sales, and HR teams. You will be developing training content across a wide variety of subjects. We have a big focus on sales training, so you will need to have some experience in this field, but we also offer learning solutions in the following areas: leadership, operations, customer service, best practices, and compliance. For product specific training, you will play a role in developing the agenda and organizing the actual training (Venue/Hotel, Meals, Travel, Materials needed for training, etc.), but the SMEs would provide the content and ultimately deliver the training. All soft skills training (i.e. professional sales training) would be delivered by this position.
This job will be demanding, with tight deadlines and complex challenges. You will be at the heart of the success and profitability of the company through development of effective and efficient training content that delivers an outstanding training experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and assess the training needs of the organization through job analysis, career paths and consultation with managers. Develop individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs.
• Develops training material in support of multiple learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
• Design, develop, author, narrate, record, edit, and implement training content, manuals and e-learning including handouts, checklists, manuals, tests/quizzes, presentations, scripts, video, audio, etc. that target tangible results.
• Works with subject matter experts to obtain content and to develop relevant case studies and exercises.
• Facilitates and delivers internal learning solutions and develops in-house training programs
• Applies recognized instructional design methodologies for business learning.
• Conducts needs assessments, identifying specific performance gaps and knowledge gaps.
• Writes effective learning objectives.
• Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities.
• Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects; meet deadlines.
• Provide solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Proactively share progress, risks, and recommendations while seeking guidance / direction / approval as necessary.
• Creates department standards and templates specific to instructional strategies and delivery methods.
• Creates high-impact, real-world case studies, simulations, and exercises.
• Facilitates meetings to gather information required for development.
• Develops training evaluation tools to measure results
• Evaluates success of the program based on business needs and learning objectives.
• Proof-read and edit content for proper use of grammar, punctuation, style, and brand guidelines. Review and test content for accuracy and usability.
• Creates training delivery plans.
• Evaluates emerging training technology and tools.
• Manages details of the task/project using basic project management skills.
• Prepares and implements training budget.
• Keep abreast of training trends, developments and best practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Possesses a minimum 3 years of experience designing, developing and delivering training courses and content.
• Quickly learn subject matter and business structure.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to change.
• Function well in an ambiguous environment.
• Work collaboratively as well as independently.
• Work in a cross-functional, team environment.
• Work under general supervision.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
• Sales training experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements: domestic travel up to 20%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $50.00 per hour
