SUMMARY:
Applicant must posses a High School diploma or equivalent. Responsible for transporting patients to and from medical facility, assisting them in making appointments, interpreting instructions, and for guiding them to and from buildings, vehicles and different offices. Must posses a valid California Drivers License with a safe driving record, DMV record required. Must be able to work with the Indian community and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic CPR course, first aid course, and course in defensive driving successfully accomplished by incumbent within one year (to be provided by Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc.)
Experience: Have experience working with people with disabilities. Job requires a lot of traveling from site to site to relieve work for other drivers during illness, leave, and to meet patient needs.
Skill: (if applicable) Must have clear and effective oral communication skills.
License: (if applicable) Must possess a valid California driver’s license and a safe driving record. A current DMV printout is required before hiring, and then biannually. Must be insurable by the corporation’s insurance carrier. Must demonstrate auto and patient safety.

Work with the Indian population in the service area and gain their confidence and acceptance; have empathetic understanding of and willingness to work with Native American population in the service area; be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.
INDIAN PREFERENCE:
