The role

We are seeking a committed GP Registrar Medical Educator who shares our values to join our NSW/ACT medical education team in 2022 term 2.

Reporting to the Director of Education and Training ACT and NSW and the Regional Head of Education, the primary purpose of this role is to assist in the design and delivery of the formal educational program for GP Synergy registrars. The GP Registrar Medical Educator will take a role in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the General Practice vocational training provided by GP Synergy and will work together with a senior medial educator in carrying out those tasks.

Activities will include providing practical assistance and support to GP registrars and hands on development and implementation of educational resources.

We are seeking medical practitioners who are current AGPT registrars, ideally completed GPT2 who have an interest in GP registrar education. Becoming involved in general practice medical education provides the opportunity to develop the future health workforce, enabling succession planning through the provision of well trained and highly skilled general practitioners.

Selection criteria

To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that applicants meet the following criteria together with the requirements as outlined in the position description GP Registrar Medical Educator:

• Current AGPT registrar working towards Fellowship of either the RACGP or ACRRM
• Medical Practitioner with current unconditional medical registration with AHPRA
• Must have completed GPT1 and ideally completed GPT2
• Unrestricted motor vehicle licence (own transport is preferred)
