Saskatchewan Health, Communications Branch, is seeking a highly motivated, confident, well-organized, and reliable individual to assist the administrative team and branch staff.
In this challenging position, diplomacy, tact and empathy will be valuable tools as you respond to telephone enquiries from the general public, redirecting callers to appropriate personnel within the Ministry of Health, our health sector partners or elsewhere within government. Attention to detail and knowledge of provincial government accounts payable, contract and purchasing processes will be a benefit as you manage invoice payments, contracts and purchasing requirements associated with Health’s centralized communications projects budget. Detailed tracking and your ability to conduct thorough searches will help you compose budget-related statistics, and assist the Administrative Coordinator and management team compile information for s and responses to a wide variety of requests associated with the communications projects budget. In addition, excellent spelling and grammatical skills and a cooperative nature will help you provide backup support to another administrative position including proofreading, formatting and packaging a variety of confidential documents such as minister’s correspondence; developing ministry templates that follow provincial government correspondence visual identity guidelines; and helping to manage the SharePoint tool used by Health to track and route minister’s correspondence.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of a variety of office administrative procedures, protocols, equipment, accounts payable and contract processes. You will have the demonstrated ability to compose, proofread and edit a variety of documents using many different software applications, and excellent proofreading, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills. You will be creative and flexible in order to successfully meet the changing and challenging demands of our workplace, demonstrating strong communications and interpersonal skills to provide high quality client services in a timely manner. You will provide clear and concise information in response to often complex enquiries, both verbally and in writing. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and organized in order to manage a challenging workload; and be able to independently assess, establish, adjust, and accurately complete multiple tasks while taking into consideration task complexity, frequent interruptions and deadlines.
The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically obtained by completing an office administration certificate, supplemented with related experience in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
