The Ministry of Social Services’ Client Service Centre requires a highly-skilled Supervisor located in Regina or Saskatoon. The successful candidate will provide guidance and coaching to staff to ensure effective, compassionate, and non-judgmental client service to individuals with varying needs, issues, and concerns.
Work hours for this position are:
Tuesdays – 11:00 – 8:00
Wednesdays – 11:00 – 8:00
Thursdays – 11:00 – 8:00
Fridays – 8:30 – 5:30
Saturdays – 8:00 – 5:00
You will be a positive role model with experience in providing service to Income Assistance clients and be aware of systemic barriers such as the impacts of poverty and socio-economic issues. It is required that the successful candidate have knowledge of and experience with Income Assistance regulations and policies and the ability to provide consultation to Income Assistance Workers. Direct supervision experience, which includes Human Resource practices such as recruiting and sustaining employees and dealing with stress in the workplace, is also required.
You will have knowledge of relevant community services and principles of Social Work. You will be required to develop and deliver presentations on Ministry programs as well as prepare written referrals and appeal reports by researching and gathering all pertinent information within strict deadlines. The ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize work in order to manage fluctuating work volumes/workflow and advise in conflict resolution are also necessary. The ability to access, retrieve, input, and process information using various databases is key. The successful candidate will be innovative and flexible.
Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a Bachelor of Social Work/Indigenous Social Work degree or alternative bachelor level social work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the CASW/CASSW.
