Saskatchewan Housing Corporation works with housing agencies to ensure that Saskatchewan residents have access to quality, affordable housing.

The Housing Operations Branch of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation is seeking a strategic, results oriented individual with well-developed communication and leadership skills as a Senior Portfolio Consultant. Reporting to the Manager, Housing Services, you will be required to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop operational policies and protocols that support the effective delivery of social housing strategies, programs and services throughout the province.

This position requires an individual with exceptional written and oral communication skills who presents and exchanges information within the team, colleagues, housing groups, clients and other stakeholders by actively listening, assessing, clarifying concerns and responding in a respectful, calm, tactful and empathetic manner to successfully build and maintain respectful collaborative and diverse work relations.

As the Senior Portfolio Consultant, you will:
Lead meetings and workshops, and provide advice and guidance that persuades, convinces, builds support and promotes the understanding of client centered services, strategic objectives and goals, and new initiatives;

Follow-up and monitor client inquiries, and guide clients through ministry regulatory and policy processes to support results-based and citizen-centered housing services;

Respond to ministerial inquiries, and develop clearly articulated briefing materials including implications of proposed policies and programs, directions and/or changes;

Work independently and collaboratively valuing diversity within an inclusive broad range of government and non-government partners, stakeholders, teams and clients, and

Work with individuals experiencing various challenges, such as mental health and addictions; and possible barriers to housing and services.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position are obtained through the completion of a degree in a social-sciences, public administration or a related discipline and/or a combination of work experiences and knowledge in human services that supports you in the following:

Interpretation and application of acts, regulations, programs, policies, guidelines, contracts and agreements;

Human services delivery systems and governance structures;

Research and Evaluation methodology processes and practices;

Understanding of varying ethnic and cultural backgrounds, with particular emphasis on First Nations and Metis;

Negotiation, conflict resolution, and mediation skills;

Facilitation skills;

Project work; and

Computer hardware, software applications and databases.
