About the role
Our Payroll Team is growing, and we are seeking Payroll Officers to join our team in a full time or part time capacity. As a Payroll Officer, you will be reporting to, and will receive support from the Team Leader within the Payroll Services team. You will be joining a dynamic team, and will support the delivery of an effective and efficient payroll function to both GV Health and its outsourced payrolls.
As a new or experienced Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for activities related to the processing of pay runs, generation of reports, calculating and understanding leave entitlements, providing advice and support to Managers and Employees as well as processing new starters, variations and terminations. You will use electronic systems such as Payglobal, Roster On (Allocate) and Equifax e-Recruit to support payroll processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex health environment, develop your payroll skills and to work for the largest employer in the region.

We are looking for
  • Knowledge and use of HR/Payroll software packages (preferable in PayGlobal and Rostering programs)
  • You will have a strong focus on customer service, responsiveness and problem solving to foster productive relationships with employees and key stakeholders.
  • Possess a working knowledge of relevant awards, certified agreements, regulations and Acts
  • Exceptional data entry and numeracy skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Essential : Possess a working knowledge of relevant awards, certified agreements, regulations and Acts.
  • Essential : Exceptional data entry and numeracy skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Essential : Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Essential : Demonstrated interest in learning the concepts of Payroll Services in a non-profit health care setting and a willingness to contribute to the efficiency of the Department.
  • Essential : Evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19
  • Essential : A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check, Victorian ‘Employee’ Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration will be required from prospective candidates prior to commencement of employment.
