About the role
The Financial Accountant is a key member of the Financial Accounting team which is responsible for providing high quality financial information to both internal and external parties. The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly and yearly reports by collecting data, analysing and investigating variances, summarising data, information and trends.
We are looking for:

• Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting or related field with eligibility for or progress towards membership to one of the professional bodies (Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, CPA Australia or Institute of Public Accountants)
• Demonstrated Financial Accounting experience in the Health Sector with practical experience in interpreting and applying accounting standards
• Demonstrated experience with an integrated financial accounting system within a large organisation.
• Strong conceptual and financial analysis skills with proven ability to analyse and resolve accounting issues and/or related problems.

• Essential : Demonstrated experience with an integrated financial accounting system within a large organisation.
• Desirable : Demonstrated Financial Accounting experience in the Health Sector with practical experience in interpreting and applying accounting standards.
• Essential : A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check, Victorian ‘Employee’ Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration will be required from prospective candidates prior to commencement of employment.
