Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria. GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.

Working alongside an experienced team lead and the Manager Finance this role will support cyclical business functions including Corporate Planning, revenue and billing cycles, year-end board reporting as well as forecasting and target setting.

About the Role

Based in Tatura, you’ll join the Finance team located in the Business and Finance Division. This role will work closely with the Manager Finance and Finance Project Analyst to support all GMW teams with the following responsibilities:

• Work with the wider Finance team to determine the deliverables and timeframes for key finance outputs including the Corporate Plan and Annual Report.
• Manage and enhance the Technology One – Budget & Forecast Module for use in each quarter and annual budget process.
• Identify and develop opportunities to enhance financial reporting to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with staff to continuously improve the quality and confidence in GMWs financial data.
• Support the training and development of the finance team to maintain their own regular financial reports.
• Manage the Finance Officer role and support cross team access to this role across peak periods

What do you need?

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential (Financial reporting analyst, Business Analyst)
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or other relevant Business or Commerce Degree.
• High level skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Financial Ledger Accounting database. Technology One is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse group of people
