Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with financial analysis and accounting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with SQL.
  • In-depth experience analyzing data and creating reports with spreadsheet, database query experience, statistical, quantitative modeling, and forecasting skills.
  • Quantitative and data analysis experience; investment banking, management consulting experience, or experience in coding/financial modeling.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

Marketing Finance Analysts help marketers define strategy and recommend investment allocations based on campaign measurement and data-driven insights, underpinned by scaled tools and processes.

In this role, you’ll develop and drive a deep understanding of the financials for marketing Google’s Nest business. You will partner with global and regional Finance, Marketing and Go-to-Market teams. Guided by your astute business acumen, you will develop analyses and insights to help your business partners understand the value of marketing initiatives, provide recommendations on where to spend money (which countries, products, channels) and improve day-to-day financial processes – succinctly communicating all of the above to advise and influence business leadership.

The name Google came from “googol,” a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.


Responsibilities

  • Lead assessments of business performance and understand risks and opportunities to form recommendations on country prioritizations and channel strategy.
  • Package and communicate insights and actionable next steps to business and Finance leadership.
  • Define goals, OKRs and provide guardrails for spend based on P&L dynamics.
  • Ensure sound financial goals and tracking for marketing campaigns, and report on performance to leaders.
  • Analyze the impact of marketing investments to see the impact of campaigns across markets, help the team diagnose under/over performance.
