Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in corporate finance, accounting, corporate strategy, management consulting, or similar
- Experience with accounting
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with large datasets and SQL
- Experience effectively partnering with technical, business, and operations colleagues
- Familiarity with SAP financial data systems/architecture
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment, navigate ambiguity, and bring clarity and structure
- Organized, detail oriented, strategically focused, with the ability to effortlessly multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Solid written and verbal communication skills

In this role, you will be a critical part of the Finance team that ensures we make sound financial decisions. Your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic decisions.
You will be primarily focused on partnering with Research and Operations teams on planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis. You will develop thoughtful and innovative ways to examine the business, enabling you to provide perspectives, insights, and recommendations. You will prioritize on the things that truly matter while finding creative ways to solve challenges.
The name Google came from “googol,” a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leads in Research and Operations across a variety of Finance-related topics and processes such as monthly variance analysis, full year forecast updates, planning, budget management, purchasing, control, and compliance.
- Own select areas of the profit and loss and work closely with other Finance members.
- Identify key cost drivers and interdependencies and create return on investment frameworks to ensure we’re allocating dollars effectively.
- Help design the programs, processes, policies, analytics, and tools to enhance financial decision making.
- Advise on the economics and risk management of agreements, including reviewing agreement terms and partnering with other Finance functions as needed.
