Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce, or equivalent practical experience.
  • CPA or CA accreditation.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting and/or high-tech organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP. Proficiency in spreadsheet software and SQL .
  • Agility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to handle a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You’ll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. This role is a critical part of both the APAC Controllership team and the global Google Cloud Business Finance team and will partner closely with a number of cross-functional and cross-finance stakeholders regionally and globally. We seek candidates who can not only successfully drive cross-finance collaboration to support both finance as well as business-led initiatives, but also those who can implement and continually look to improve existing processes. As a member of this team, you know your accounting principles and the accounting processes end to end. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.


Responsibilities

  • Ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and processes related to controllership for the Google Cloud business in APAC (e.g., month-end close, business, cost of sales, profit and loss (P&L) and B/S analytics).
  • Prepare or review reconciliations and key balance sheet accounts, investigate variances with support teams, as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of periodic close (e.g., month over month, quarter over quarter) and operational review presentations for management.
  • Assist with systems/transformation initiatives impacting the financial reporting process for Google Cloud. Develop reporting and knowledge training in these areas, to support the growth of the broader APAC controllership team.
  • Partner with cross-Finance teams to provide support on statutory/regulatory/tax compliance requirements for Google Cloud.
