What is a Data Analyst?

The Data Analyst will organize, analyze and visualize data in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all elements of the business and work to improve the organization’s ability to store, understand, and learn from its data. As an integral member of the IT team your role is to provide deliverables that represent the Fit4Less brand and align with clean clubs, friendly associates, fun culture and an automated brand.

Job Summary

Locate, analyze and present data in a way that can be easily consumed by senior business leaders.

Perform complex analysis and data modelling and explain results to business leaders. Provide guidance on business decisions.

Extract patterns, trends, and key business drivers from large, disparate data sources.

Prepare, distribute, and explain clear, accurate and aesthetically sound visualizations.

Create, maintain, and improve well organized and documented data sources.

Identify patterns, trends, and key business drivers within the data work to improve the organization’s ability to store, understand, and learn from its data.

Understand complex business needs and identify the relevant supporting data and provide recommendations for decisions.

Forecast future data needs of the business and work with business partners to create relevant data stores with the goal of improving the company operations.

Our Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s Degree with a strong concentration in Science, Computer Science, Business, Math and/or Statistics preferred; outstanding post-secondary academic performance

Minimum 3 year relevant, progressive work experience in Data Analysis

Outstanding problem-solving abilities

Exceptional analytical abilities, including statistical analysis

Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst

Superior verbal and written communication skills and an excellent sense of visual design

Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets

Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), and programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).

Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle Curious, self-motivated and able to work productively on multiple projects with minimal direction

Learns quickly when facing new problems and analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement; experiments and will try anything to find solutions.

Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
