You will join a dynamic Anthropology department offering a range of undergraduate and post-graduate programs in an institution specializing in the social sciences, arts and humanities. Summary:
This is a 5 -month Research Assistant job on the Goldsmiths collaborative project ‘Profiling Inside Out: Surveillance, Resistance, Collaboration,’ which runs until 31 July 2023. The Research Assistant will join an international, cross-disciplinary team of academic and non-academic researchers working on a public engagement project on ‘racial profiling’ in Italy and the UK, defined as the use in police work of generalisations based on race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. Working with community groups in Italy and the UK, the project collates first hand experiences of policing, sets up spaces for collaborative knowledge exchange across national and generational lines, and develops a community plan of action for safe policing. The Research Assistant will be supporting the daily administrative and intellectual running of the project, working closely with the project lead, Dr Alice Elliot.
