Brief

Structural Engineer needed to join a well-established infrastructure organization, who deliver services in transportation and the built environment, based out of their site in Sevenoaks. As a Structural Engineer, you will work closely and collaboratively with internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle, in order to guarantee technical and quality compliance through technical solutions and designs. You must have a structural design background involving structural reinforced concrete, steel structures and foundation. In addition, be competent with Auto CAD and bridge station inspection data input.

It is beneficial for the successful candidate to have previous structural engineering experience and hold the following qualifications – BEng Civil Engineering Degree, CEng Member of ICE or IStructE member.

Role Responsibilities

Some of the main duties of the Structural Engineer will include:

• Production of structural designs associated with concrete, steel, timber and masonry materials.
• Structural design of permanent and temporary works, in accordance with relevant design standards and codes of practice.
• Carrying out structural assessments of all forms of structures (highways and buildings)
• Supporting local authorities in their asset management strategies, by leading inspections of highway structures and site surveys.
• Manage health and safety during the design and construction phases.
• Assisting with the preparation of tender documents by preparing fee proposals and quality statements.

What experience you need to be the successful Structural Engineer:

• Educated to Degree level in Civil Engineering (or another relevant discipline)
• Previious Structural Engineering experience
• Hold a Valid CSCS
• Health and Safety Qualifications
• Be a Chartered (looking to work towards) Chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
