Goalsetter Hiring for Contract Curriculum Writer (Summer Opportunity) Job at Remote Full Time

Goalsetter is seeking creative, innovative and passionate educators and financial experts to help develop life-changing, inspiring and engaging curriculum for students around America! This is an opportunity to be a part of a very special and powerful movement that is focused on building financial literacy particularly for black and brown youth and their families and opening saving and investing accounts for 1 million+ children. The organization, Goalsetter has developed and launched a popular app, the first of its kind, that educates and assesses children and adults on their financial knowledge, guiding them as they create savings goals, invest, and build healthy financial habits through the support and guidance of culturally relevant and engaging financial literacy content. We are now excited to be launching similar content within classrooms!

About the position:

• We are looking for certified/experienced educators to write content for the following:

• Financial Literacy Curriculum for grades 6-8

• Financial Literacy Curriculum for grades 9-12

• You will be tasked to develop, revise and edit 10-20 lesson plans including objectives, activities, text selection, and assessments

• This remote, contractual position will run about 8 weeks (Jun-Aug) and will require about 20hrs/week within a timeline-drive workflow

• Writers will collaborate with others to share lessons, receive feedback and make necessary edits and revisions

• Writers will be compensated through a $7200 stipend

• Expected start date: Jun 13, 2022

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Certified in K-12 education

• At least 5 years of classroom teaching experience

• Understanding and experience with the interdependent relationship between curriculum, design, standards, and assessment

• Experience using Google Suite (ex: Docs and Drive)

• Experience creating memes and Gifs

• Access to a personal computer/laptop

• Economics and/or Personal Finance Teaching Background (preferred)

• Dedication to improving outcomes for all students

• Excellent writing, editing, time management, and organizational skills

• Openness to feedback and professional growth

• Familiarity and/or comfort working with content management systems

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain agreed upon schedules and deliverables
