General Description:

The VP of Finance & Accounting is a new strategic position for GMR. We are creating this position to add expertise to our existing team in support of our strategic goals and growth plans. The person filling this role will help improve our operations and margins by leading the finance and accounting staff, modernizing our finance and accounting systems and processes, and providing strategic thinking and input to our Executive leadership team.

This position will oversee all aspects of accounting operations managing the team’s execution of cash management, AP/AR, payroll processing, tax filings, internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting tools and processes. From a finance perspective, this position will manage the team’s execution of budgeting, forecasting, costing/pricing analysis, and delivery of financial strategies and tools to support the profitability of GMR and our affiliate entities. Overall, the VP of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for generating accurate accounting data and financial reports for the business and then, more importantly, interpreting the data and numbers to aid in strategic decision-making across our organization.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Proficient with both Cash-basis and Accrual-basis Accounting, ideally for transitioning a growing business to Accrual-basis; GAAP proficiency.
• Multistate taxation issues related to S-Corporations and pass-through entities.
• Multistate sales and use taxation, particularly for a service-based business.
• Timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups inside and outside the business.
• Development of costing analysis, pricing analysis, and pricing strategies.
• Development of accounting and finance processes.
• Implementation of accounting and finance systems and tools.
• Management of accounting and finance personnel.
• Synchronization of accounting and finance activities between affiliate entities.
• Providing strategic recommendations and advice to company leadership.

Education and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other appropriate Business major.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10 plus years of progressively responsible experience in finance/accounting with experience in a leadership role.
• Ability to read, write and speak professionally.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining progress on goals and deliverables.
• Attention to detail; desires accuracy and thoroughness.
• Strategic thinker.
• Business acumen.
