THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager for the completion of accounting and compliance requirements on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
This role would ideally suit someone starting out in commerce, wanting to get started in the mining industry. For the right candidate, this role could be tailored to part time school hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Complete the month end adjustments, general journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, leases, provisions
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Capitalised Exploration and Mining Development schedules
• Preparation of ABS surveys
• Assist in preparation of the monthly Business Activity Statement and Consolidated Activity Statement
• Assist in the preparation of the annual FBT return
• Assist in collation of information for annual R&D and tax return in liaison with external tax agent
• Assist in collation of audit requirements
• Assist in the preparation of the Australia budgets and forecasts
• Assist with ad-hoc projects
• Any other duties as directed

ESSENTIAL/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE :

• Bachelor of Commerce
